Overview
The RN Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and oversight of day‑to‑day clinical and operational activities within oncology clinic settings. This role provides nursing leadership, clinical oversight, and operational support to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care. The RN Supervisor collaborates closely with providers, clinic leadership, and interdisciplinary team members and may provide leadership support across multiple oncology service areas and clinic locations as operational needs require.
Qualifications- National Nursing Certification within 3 years (varies)
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Healthcare work experience
- Leadership experience
- Coordinate day‑to‑day clinic operations and provide leadership support for clinical and non‑clinical staff.
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, ongoing staff development, coaching, and employee evaluations.
- Ensure effective, efficient office operations, optimizing performance, and continually improving the quality of care in a fast‑changing health‑care environment.
- Possess in‑depth knowledge and provide operational support for tasks and job functions including protocols, processes, policies, and procedures.
- Follow protocols and policies in decision making.
- Act as first‑line decision maker with respect to employee relations situations; inform appropriate leaders and partner on high‑level matters.
- Seek guidance from oncology service line leadership as needed.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities; be open to and objective of others’ views; accept and give feedback; contribute to positive team goals; put the success of the team above own interests.
- Identify and resolve day‑to‑day operational and staffing issues.
- Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed expectations.
- Establish effective communication and act as liaison between staff, providers, patients, and leadership.
- Provide leadership in times of disaster/emergency to secure safety of staff, patients, visitors, facility, and protected health information where possible.
- Manage departmental accounts payables and monitor departmental expenses; provide information for budgeting.
- Support strategic initiatives as requested.
- Delegate accountability for department metrics.
- Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Behave in accordance with Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies and procedures.
The compensation range for this position is $41 per hour – $70.52 per hour. This represents a good‑faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
