Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel RN oncology nurse for a work assignment in Peoria, Illinois.
Job SummaryRegistered Nurse (RN) oncology role on the medical‑surgical oncology floor. This position involves delivering high‑quality patient care to patients with a range of cancer diagnoses, including lymphoma, leukemia, hematology, and radiation oncology. The assignment calls for utilization of EMR documentation and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced, acute care setting.
Responsibilities- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy medications.
- Monitor patient responses and manage medication side effects.
- Troubleshoot equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, telemetry monitors, and chemotherapy infusion sets.
- Collaborate with charge nurses and nurse aides on patient care plans.
- Float to general medical‑surgical units as needed, with float episodes lasting four hours or more.
- Maintain patient records using Epic Beacon EMR.
- Valid Illinois RN license or proof of application.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- Experience administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy medications, including set‑rate drips such as heparin and chemotherapy.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring (Phillips monitors). – Preferred
- Knowledge of radiation oncology patients – Preferred
