Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
We are looking for a proven Chief Nursing Officer with a passion for compassionate, patient-centered care to lead clinical excellence, culture, and outcomes at Meadowview Behavioral Hospital.
Responsibilities- Direct the provision of 24/7 nursing services across the facility.
- Develop, implement, and revise corporate, facility, and Nursing Services policies in alignment with Medical Staff Bylaws and organizational goals.
- Evaluate program quality, nursing performance, and clinical effectiveness.
- Establish and monitor methods to evaluate nursing care practices; initiate research and performance improvement initiatives.
- Partner with the CEO to develop short- and long-term goals for Nursing Services.
- Create and lead nursing committees to support quality, safety, and patient care standards.
- Apply strategic problem-solving to support organizational goals and operational efficiency.
- Develop, justify, and manage the annual department budget.
- Collaborate with facility leadership to optimize programming and patient experience.
- Ensure all Nursing Services manuals and documentation remain current and compliant.
- Oversee patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure continuity of care.
- Meet regularly with Program Managers, the Medical Director, and clinical teams to ensure compliance with program goals.
- Serve on facility committees as assigned.
- Act as a role model, mentor, and resource for nursing staff to support excellence in clinical practice.
- Education & Licensure
:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing;
Master’s Degree in psychiatric nursing or related field required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Illinois. - Experience
:
Minimum of five (5) years as a CNO, in administration, and/or in dedicated leadership experience in psychiatric nursing. - Additional Skill Requirements
:
Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, Medicare, OSHA regulations, and all other state and federal regulatory standards.

Salary range: $140,000 – $170,000 annually, with quarterly and annual bonus opportunities.
