Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Peoria, IL

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

• Provide direct nursing care to pregnant patients including high-risk OB patients, supporting vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and cerclage placements
• Titrate and manage drips including Pitocin, Magnesium, and Insulin per established protocols
• Circulate cesarean sections in the OR and recover patients in the PACU
• Perform electronic fetal monitoring using Obix/Phillips monitors and interpret strips utilizing Advanced AWHONN EFM standards
• Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units as needed, managing patient assignments per unit guidelines
• Adhere to AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines including 1:1 for Pitocin induction and active labor, and 1:3 for L&D triage

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Completion of Advanced AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Proficiency in care of high-risk OB patients, including management of Magnesium and Insulin drips
• Ability to circulate in the OR for cesarean sections and provide PACU recovery care

• Experience working in a Level 3 perinatal center or high-acuity Labor and Delivery environment
• Familiarity with Epic Stork EFM documentation system
• Experience with block scheduling in a travel or contract nursing capacity

• Work within a well-supported unit featuring a 24/7 charge nurse (no patient assignment), 24/7 house supervisor, labor hospitalists, and newborn hospitalists on-site
• Surgical scrubs are provided on the unit, and block scheduling is accommodated for contract clinicians whenever possible
