Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry / Cardio Thoracic

Peoria, IL

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0700–1930)

• Provide direct patient care on a 70-bed Cardio Thoracic unit managing diagnoses including MI, CHF, atrial fibrillation, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placement, lung surgeries with chest tubes, and esophagectomy patients
• Perform continuous EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring using Philips telemetry systems in collaboration with monitor technicians
• Titrate drips including Cardizem and heparin per unit protocols
• Manage patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP (home regimen), and heated high-flow oxygen as indicated
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 on day shift with PCT support
• Float to other general medical units as needed and participate in rotating weekend and holiday schedules

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmed application in process)
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation
• Experience with medication titration and drip management
• Competency in all core nursing skills applicable to an acute cardiac/thoracic patient population
• Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with drug-free workplace policy

• Current ACLS certification (recommended)
• Prior experience in a telemetry, cardiac, or cardio thoracic nursing setting
• Familiarity with chest tube management and post-surgical thoracic patient care

• Work within a well-supported unit featuring 24/7 charge nurse coverage, house supervisor availability, and dedicated monitor technicians on every shift
• Gain experience in a high-acuity cardio thoracic environment with a diverse and clinically rich patient population
