Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

Peoria, IL

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Stepdown unit with a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing a wide range of complex medical conditions including COPD, CHF, sepsis, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, and respiratory conditions
• Manage and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Heparin, and low-dose vasopressors
• Care for patients requiring advanced airway and ventilator management, including tracheostomy patients on ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and face mask ventilation
• Monitor and manage patients with chest tubes, G-tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, and central lines
• Confirm telemetry strip interpretations in collaboration with telemetry technicians using bedside Philips monitors
• Float to other units as needed, including ICU, other Stepdown units, or General Med, assuming the appropriate patient assignment for that level of care

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Minimum ICU or Intermediate/Stepdown experience with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 or 2:1 (progressive care or telemetry-only experience is not sufficient)
• Demonstrated tracheostomy and mechanical ventilator experience
• Proficiency in titrating drips and managing hemodynamically complex patients
• BLS certification required
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen

• ACLS certification strongly recommended
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Prior travel nursing experience in a Stepdown or ICU setting

• Work in a well-supported unit with a free charge nurse, 24/7 house supervisor coverage, and PCT support on every shift
• Block scheduling available with every-other-weekend requirements, offering a predictable and manageable work schedule
