Patient Ratios: 1 RN 2 Patients
- Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS and ACLS
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: MICU is currently the COVID unit but prior to the pandemic our primary diagnosis was Sepsis, ARDS, Pneumonia, AKI, ETOH withdraw, and Overdose.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills:
Able to interpret EKG strips, use an arterial line and central lines, proficient in care of the ventilated patient and advanced knowledge in titrating vasopressors.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?:
Yes
- Floating Requirements:
Travelers float first. If the traveler floats to a lower level of care, they would take 3 patients on a stepdown unit & 4 patients in the gen med environment
