American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of general surgery, GYN, and urology experience for a 12-hour day shift assignment with call requirements.

• Acute care hospital setting in the General (Major) Surgery OR unit with 14 suites for general surgery out of 28 total
• Handles 20-40 general surgery cases per day including lap chole, lap colon, lap appy, cysto, DaVinci robotic cases, hysterectomy, vascular, ENT, and urology procedures
• Uses EPIC OP TIME charting system
• 12-hour day shifts scheduled as 7am-1730 or  to total 36 or 40 hours per week
• Block scheduling determined by need with no self-scheduling
• Works alongside surgical technologists in the OR
• Charge nurse present each shift and assists with cases
• Call required approximately once per week with call hours varying , , , or )
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• Sleep policy provides 8 hours off following call shifts worked more than 4 hours past 2300
• Weekend requirements are every other or every third weekend depending on need, worked as full weekend hours with an assigned call shift
• Floating possible to other surgery teams or SPD if qualified

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in general surgery, GYN, urology, and ENT required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience in similarly sized facilities and ORs within the last 2 years preferred

• Unit-specific orientation up to one week if needed, in addition to hospital-wide orientation
• Hospital-provided scrubs required
• Local rate applies for clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility, with no radius rule affecting eligibility
• Cancellation policy allows the equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty
• COVID vaccination not required for consideration
