American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2 years of general surgery, GYN, urology, and ENT experience along with call and weekend commitments.

• Acute care hospital setting in the General (Major) Surgery OR with 14 general surgery suites out of 28 total
• Handles 20-40 general surgery cases per day, including lap chole, lap colon, lap appy, cysto, DaVinci robotic cases, hysterectomy, vascular, ENT, and urology procedures
• Works alongside surgical technologists and a charge nurse who assists with cases
• Uses EPIC OP Time EMR
• 10-hour day shifts, scheduled 7-1730 or  to total 36 or 40 hours per week based on contract
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling determined by facility need
• On-call required approximately 1 night per week with call hours varying between  depending on assignment
• Weekend on-call rotation of every other or every third weekend, working full weekend hours plus an assigned call shift
• 30-minute call response time required
• Sleep policy provides 8 hours off after working more than 4 hours past 2300 while on call
• Floating possible to other surgery teams or Sterile Processing Department (SPD) if qualified

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in general surgery, GYN, urology, and ENT required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience in similarly sized facilities and ORs within the last 2 years preferred
• Must be able to pass a drug screen for all panels as OSF is a Drug-Free Campus

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of general surgery specialties
• Unit-specific orientation of up to one week available if needed, in addition to hospital-wide orientation
• Hospital-provided scrubs required
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a reduced local pay rate
• No radius rule restricting eligibility for the standard travel rate
