Telemetry Nurse (RN) Night Shift

Location:

Not Specified. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with cardiovascular conditions, including MI, CHF, A fib, COPD, and those undergoing lung or chest surgeries. The Telemetry Nurse will be responsible for interpreting EKGs, titrating medications such as Cardizem and heparin, and managing various monitors in an acute care setting.

  Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week. Shifts run from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Required Qualifications:
  
  RN licensure, active Illinois license or initiation of application process, BLS certification; ACLS recommended; at least 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, with skills in EKG interpretation and medication titration.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Experience with cardiothoracic units and managing chest tubes, pacemakers/AICDs; familiarity with Phillips monitors.
• Additional Information:
  Responsibilities include troubleshooting ventilator equipment such as Cpap and Bipap, reading and interpreting telemetry strips, and collaborating with charge nurses and house supervisors. Float to other general medical units may be required.
