Emergency Room (ER) Nurse
- Day shift in a Level 1 trauma center. This position involves caring for a wide variety of patients ranging from newborns to the elderly with diverse complaints, including critically ill patients and those experiencing cardiac events, strokes, and trauma. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on critical care skills and certification adherence.
- Schedule:
12-hour shifts with start times at 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., or 9:00 a.m.; minimum of 36 hours per week - Required
Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TNS (Trauma Nurse Specialist) - Education/
Experience:
At least 2 years of nursing experience and one prior travel assignment preferred. Candidates must hold an active Illinois nursing license or have initiated the application process. - Department Notes:
- Local rate policies apply to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles.
- Orientation hours are non-billable, with mandatory 12 hours of orientation.
- Nurses work with a patient ratio of approximately 1:3 to 5, depending on acuity.
- The ER is staffed with physicians and mid-level providers, with a minimum of 3 attendings per shift.
- ED techs and radiology staff support patient care.
- All nurses must be able to interpret Phillips monitor rhythms and manage life-saving drips such as vasopressors and cardiac medications.
- Floating to other units is rare but possible; nurses will serve as help all.
- No specific scrub color required; solid colored shirts are acceptable.

- The position begins on 09/28/2026 and ends on 03/29/2027.
- Shift hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
