Summary

The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions primarily aim to fulfill Buckle’s mission of creating the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for Guests. They perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks such as cashiering, merchandise display, register procedures, and facility cleaning. The AIT works closely with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new teammates, and provide leadership.

The Assistant Manager is a progression from the AIT, adding higher‑level duties while sharing many responsibilities.

Pay range: $17–$20 per hour. For sales positions, Buckle pays a base rate plus commission on sales.

• Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals.
• Meet or exceed performance standards in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty.
• Explore ways to expand Guest selection through inventory methods and iPad apps.
• Build strong Guest relationships to develop a client‑based business.
• Lead by example with show‑manship, customer service, and attentiveness.
• Recognize and communicate Guest Levels with the team.
• Ask business‑driven and show‑manship questions to managers and teammates.
• Coachable and consistently welcome feedback to improve sales presentations.
• Perform leadership actions and maintain high standards when Manager is absent.
• Plan sales goals with Store Manager.
