Role Description

The Shoe Fit Specialist / Sales role is a part-time, on-site position located in Peoria, IL. This role involves greeting customers, assessing their footwear needs, and recommending appropriate shoe styles, sizes, and support options to ensure proper fit and comfort. Daily tasks include measuring customers’ feet, maintaining product displays, answering questions about shoe features, and processing sales transactions accurately. The specialist may also provide basic information about repair services, coordinate drop-offs and pick-ups, and help keep the sales floor clean and organized.

This role requires consistent, friendly customer interaction and a willingness to learn about product lines and fitting techniques.

Qualifications
  • Customer service and sales skills, including active listening, clear communication, and the ability to build rapport with a diverse customer base.
  • Product knowledge and fitting skills, such as measuring feet, understanding shoe construction and support features, and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Basic retail operations skills, including handling point-of-sale systems, managing cash and card transactions, and assisting with inventory and merchandising.
  • Organizational and reliability skills, including punctuality, attention to detail, and the ability to follow store procedures and maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move shoe boxes, and support customers with mobility or comfort needs in the fitting area.
  • Experience in footwear, retail, or customer-facing roles is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Availability to work a full-time schedule, store hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 10am-5pm, as needed. 30-40 hours a week.
