The marketing department at Producer’s National Corporation is responsible for initiating and managing relationships with our independent agency customers in the Illinois and Indiana market. The Business Development Manager is responsible for managing state marketing staff and growing relationships with key or high-value clients. The role focuses on strategic account management and driving revenue growth from the company’s most important agencies within the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage up to 3 junior Business Development Specialists, provide them direction and training;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with major or strategic accounts in your region;
  • Identify client needs and propose tailored solutions to meet business goals;
  • Negotiate contracts and commission to ensure long-term partnerships;
  • Collaborate with internal teams (underwriting, IT, accounting, claims, etc.) to deliver exceptional client service;
  • Track sales performance and forecast revenue growth;
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling or up selling within major accounts.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to manage staff and provide direction
  • Strong knowledge of Illinois and Indian insurance needs.
  • Proven experience in B2B or enterprise sales.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and account planning ability.
  • Experience with CRM tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-value clients simultaneously.
Ideal candidates would possess the following traits
  • An individual with a proven track record of outside sales success.
  • An individual with experience working for a property and casualty insurance company, especially one that specializes in auto insurance.
  • Understanding of the independent agency business model.
