Position: Sales Engineer – Security - Genetec / Lenel

Overview

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our Security Solutions team in the Peoria market. This role is ideal for someone who understands the commercial construction space and can bridge the gap between technical security systems and client-facing sales. Experience with Genetec, Hanwha, Axis, Milestone and/or Lenel/S2 is highly preferred. You’ll work closely with customers, contractors, and internal teams to develop and deliver integrated security and low‑voltage solutions—from early design through project execution.

What

You’ll Do
  • Partner with clients, general contractors, and end users to develop security system solutions (access control, video surveillance, and AV systems)
  • Support the sales cycle from concept through close, including scope development, system design, and proposal creation
  • Prepare estimates, budgets, and takeoffs for commercial construction projects
  • Collaborate with operations and project teams to ensure solutions are aligned with project requirements and execution capabilities
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate and competitive proposals
  • Provide technical guidance to customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, contractors, and industry partners in the local market
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience selling security systems (card access, video surveillance, intrusion, and/or AV solutions)
  • Background working in commercial construction or low‑voltage systems sales
  • Strong understanding of reading plans, specs, and construction documents
  • Estimating experience preferred (takeoffs, budgeting, proposal development)
  • Ability to communicate both technically and commercially with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Self‑starter who can manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment
