The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment within the non-durable goods manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for monitoring access points, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to any security incidents or emergencies. The Security Officer ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to safety and security. By effectively managing access control systems and utilizing wireless communication technologies, the officer helps prevent unauthorized entry and protects company assets.
Ultimately, this role supports the uninterrupted operation of manufacturing processes by fostering a secure workplace for all employees and visitors. We have full-time and part-time openings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control access to the facility using electronic access control systems and manual verification methods.
- Conduct routine patrols of the premises, including climbing stairs and inspecting all areas to detect and deter suspicious activity.
- Operate radio communication devices to coordinate with team members and report incidents in real-time.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches, following established protocols.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations to support ongoing security efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a security guard or in a related security role.
- Basic proficiency with computer systems and wireless communication technology.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and repetitive motions.
- Strong oral communication skills to interact clearly with team members and visitors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in security or law enforcement training.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with advanced access control and surveillance systems.
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
The Security Officer utilizes intermediate computer skills daily to operate access control software and log security activities efficiently. Wireless technology and radio communication are essential for maintaining constant contact with security personnel and responding swiftly to incidents. Physical abilities such as climbing stairs and performing repetitive motions enable thorough patrols of the facility, ensuring no area is overlooked. Oral communication skills are critical for clear and effective interaction with colleagues, management, and visitors, facilitating smooth security operations.
