Expected pay for this position is $20.21 - $23.77/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY: The Security Officer functions in an unarmed security post for OSF Healthcare campuses. Security officers are responsible for the safety and security within OSF Healthcare campuses by conducting unarmed patrol, monitoring alarm systems, assisting in investigations, and deterring criminal activity and misconduct.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Licenses/Certifications:
- American Heart Associate CPR-Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
Other
Licenses/Certifications:
- International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) within 1 year of hire, National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 1 year of hire.
- LCMMC, HMMC/SHMC:
Active FOID Card
Other skills/knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Associate's Degree
Experience:
- Service with a police department or active military, military reserves or National Guard, and/or 3 years security experience.
Licensure/
Certifications:
- International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) Advanced Certification.
Other requirements/information:
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors, interact cordially and communicate with the public, effective oral and written communication skills, active listening skills.
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively.
- Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately, and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate computer systems effectively, knowledge of Microsoft Office.
