Electrician Journeyman
Location: Bartonville/Peoria, IL - All Peoria Mill Facilities
Department: Maintenance / Electrical
Hourly Wage: $29 - $37/hour + OT opportunities
Schedule: Full-time | Must be available for various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Do you have a passion for solving complex electrical problems and keeping high-powered systems running smoothly? Are you skilled in troubleshooting, repair, and installation in an industrial environment? If you're a licensed electrician ready to make an impact - this opportunity is for you!
What You'll Do- Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems including motors, transformers, lighting, VFDs, switch gear, and control panels
- Troubleshoot and repair high- and low-voltage electrical systems and automation equipment
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, ammeters, infrared cameras, and megohm meters
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, single-line diagrams, and manuals
- Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades to maximize uptime and performance
- Work with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and relay logic systems to support automation and control functions
- Support capital projects with new installations and infrastructure improvements
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and company safety regulations
- Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs thoroughly
- Provide guidance and mentorship to electrical apprentices
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably in manufacturing or heavy industry
- Education & Licensing: High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a certified electrical apprenticeship program
- Valid journeyman electrician license or certification
- Skills: Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, and industrial automation systems
- Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Mindset: Safety-first attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
