• Services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness.
• Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment.
• Reads and interprets OEM maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine repair or replacement methods.
• Inspects engines for cracks, oil leaks, and malfunctions; examines turbine blades for cracks or breaks.
• Tests engine operation with ignition analyzers, compression checkers, fuel pressure testers, and ammeters to locate malfunctions.
• Replaces or repairs worn components such as carburetors, alternators, and magnetos using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
• Removes engines from aircraft using hoists; disassembles and inspects parts for wear or defects; repairs or replaces engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.
• Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring and aircraft accessories.
• Performs miscellaneous aircraft servicing tasks (e.g., flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, checking brakes).
• Maintains required FAA Airframe and Powerplant license; on-site inspection readiness and compliance with OEM and regulatory requirements.
• Tests and troubleshoots with the ability to communicate with air traffic control when testing run and taxi operations during busy airport operations.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics; ability to repair composites using specialized equipment is a plus.

• Education:
  
  High School diploma or equivalent; active FAA Airframe and Powerplant license required;
  Inspection Authorization preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years of aircraft maintenance experience with A&P certification; general aviation experience with light single-engine aircraft under 12,500 lbs; DHC-6-300 experience a plus with sheet metal repairs, PT6 engine, avionics and/or electrical systems.
• Must have an active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• Must be physically capable of bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and standing for long periods; must be able to lift 60 lbs above head.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; basic computer skills.
• Must have own tools; valid state driver’s license.

• Pay Range: $45.51/hr
