Installation Technician, Building Maintenance
We are working with a premier National Manufacturer and Supplier of high-performance, architectural-grade window and door systems. They specialize in large-scale multifamily, student housing and mixed-use developments, ranging from 8 to 300+ units.
They are looking for a high-level Technical Specialist to act as the ultimate authority on-site. You will ensure General Contractors and installers follow our strict protocols, troubleshoot complex performance issues, and lead the charge on quality control and compliance testing. This is a field-based, traveling role with a clear growth path toward building and leading a national technical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation process on active construction sites to ensure strict quality control.
- Lead and verify on-site water penetration and air infiltration testing (ASTM and AAMA standards).
- Diagnose material or site-specific issues on the fly; perform or direct remedial work, adjustments, and component replacements.
- Professionally interface with GCs, facade consultants, and owners’ reps to resolve installation conflicts and explain testing outcomes.
- Provide detailed field reports and photo documentation to ensure project compliance and risk mitigation.
The Ideal Candidate
You should be comfortable commanding a jobsite and holding contractors accountable to high standards.
- Familiarity with commercial glazing systems and ASTM/AAMA field testing equipment.
- Comfortable on high-rise construction sites (currently 14+ floors) and ready for consistent national travel.
- A desire to move beyond field work into a leadership role as our technical division scales.
- Preference is experience in a commercial window inspection or building envelope testing firm.
Requirements
- Hands-on knowledge of window installation methods and waterproofing (flashing, sealing, anchoring).
- Ability to work independently while traveling across the U.S.
