Maintenance Technician III – Peoria Heights, IL

Starting Wage: $30/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 6:00am – 2:30pm (No On-Call)

As a Maintenance Technician III at Sherman’s, you’ll join a small, skilled team responsible for maintaining our four commercial facilities throughout Central Illinois
. Our facilities are large and active, and you’ll stay busy tackling a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement projects that directly support store teams and daily operations.

What to expect in your new role:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs including painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work
• Use a mobile device to manage and complete maintenance requests submitted by all departments
• Inspect facilities, identify potential issues, and help prevent future problems
• Support renovations, capital improvements, and special projects as assigned (currently, our Peoria Store remodel is a major project!)
• Respond to maintenance needs in a timely, professional manner to support safe, functional, and positive store environments

What we’ll expect from you:

• At least 5 years of experience in commercial property maintenance or a related field
• Strong working knowledge of building systems (such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or structural elements)
• Ability to troubleshoot issues, make repairs, and identify root causes
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of internal customers
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
• Experience following safety procedures and compliance requirements
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously improve skills
• A valid driver’s license
