Refrigeration Technician; Peoria

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a full-time Service Technician to join our Service department. This position works closely with Service Managers and requires expertise in refrigeration principles, mechanical and electrical systems, and safety regulations to ensure our customers' equipment operates efficiently and reliably.

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is a premier custom design-build contractor for industrial refrigeration systems, providing design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and in-house service.

A Service Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and support of industrial refrigeration equipment for our valued customers. A working knowledge of commercial and industrial refrigeration and electrical controls is required to be successful in this role.

• Monday - Friday (45-60 hours per week)

• Repair and maintain refrigeration equipment for industrial accounts in food, beverage, and refrigerated storage, ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP.
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon refrigeration equipment commonly found in industrial applications.
• Use working knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical troubleshooting for all common types of ammonia central systems, and control/alarm systems to perform inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements.

• High school graduate or GED; HVAC tech school preferred.
• Universal EPA certification or ability to obtain.
• RETA 1 & 2 certification preferred.
• Motor alignment experience a plus.
• Company is a tobacco‑free workplace; no tobacco products are allowed during the workday.
• Pre‑employment drug screening, felony screening, and motor vehicle record screening.
• Position is safety‑sensitive and will require regular drug testing.
• Excellent physical condition; ability to climb ladders, wear a respirator, work 10-12 hour days, and occasionally lift heavy items.
• Must be able to wear a respirator and pass a fit test.
