Refrigeration Technician; Peoria

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc is a premier custom design-build contractor for industrial refrigeration systems, providing design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and in-house service.

We are seeking a full-time Service Technician to join our Service department. The role works closely with Service Managers and requires expertise in refrigeration principles, mechanical and electrical systems, and safety regulations to ensure customers' equipment operates efficiently and reliably.

A Service Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and support of industrial refrigeration equipment. Required to have a working knowledge of commercial and industrial refrigeration and electrical controls.

• $30–$60 per hour, depending on experience

• Monday – Friday, regional overnight travel (50–60 hours per week)

• Repair and maintain industrial refrigeration equipment ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP for food and beverage and refrigerated storage accounts.
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon refrigeration equipment.
• Use knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors, electrical troubleshooting for all common types of ammonia central systems, and control/alarm systems to perform inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Demonstrate a strict adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements.

• High school graduation or GED; HVAC technical school preferred.
• Universal EPA certification or ability to obtain.
• RETA 1 & 2 certification preferred.
• Motor alignment experience a plus.
• Strong physical condition: climb ladders, wear a respirator, work 10–12 hour days, occasional heavy lifting.
• Must be able to wear a respirator and pass a fit test.
• The position requires a pre‑employment drug screening, felony screening, and motor vehicle record screening.
• Safety‑sensitive position; regular drug testing required.
