Diesel Mechanic
We are hiring immediately multiple Diesel Mechanics to maintain, diagnose and repair our commercial vehicles and related equipment in our Madison, IL location. If your background includes diesel technician or related experience and excellent customer service skills, please apply!
General DescriptionAssists in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing commercial vehicles and related equipment. Also maintains, inspects, grades, changes and repairs commercial vehicle tires to ensure an effective Tire Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment within specified Service Repair Times (SRT).
- Follow established maintenance procedures and guidelines.
- Safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Starting pay depends on skill level: A+ $31.50 - $35 per hour, A $29.50 - $31.50 per hour, B $25.50 - $28.50 per hour, C $22 - $24.50 per hour.
- $50 per month tool stipend.
- $50 per month technology stipend.

- 1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 7AM-6PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 3PM-Midnight (0.50 Shift Differential)
- 3rd Shift: Monday-Thursday 9PM-8AM (1.00 Shift Differential)
- Weekend Shift: Friday-Sunday 6AM-7PM (2.50 Shift Differential)
Shop environment with continuous exposure to noise, intermittent standing, walking, occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting. May have exposure to outside weather elements.

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on-the-job education in a specific skill area, e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training, and 1 to 6 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
