Onsite Service Technician

Onsite Crane Technician – The role involves quality installation, inspections, maintenance, and repair services for hoist and crane equipment. The technician upholds the highest level of professional integrity and ethics to instill customer confidence and ensure continued success in service.

Rivian, Bloomington, IL.

• Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
• Perform OSHA equivalent inspections; documenting and completing warranty work; troubleshooting breakdowns.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
• Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed.
• Perform electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
• Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; and recommending system improvements.
• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist.
• Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
• Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
• Responsible for company equipment including company vehicle(s), tools, etc.

• 2-5 years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required.
• Working knowledge of 3-phase motors, VFDs, contractors, and circuits.
• Overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
• Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology preferred.
• Ability to work at height, in extreme temperature and noisy locations; physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting and the ability to lift 50-100lbs.
• Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
• Ability to work independently.
• Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional manner.
• Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer the status of the job.
• Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
• Required to use own hand tools and meter.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
