Health And Safety Coach
SAL Community Services connects the community to services that ensure every child can succeed in school and life, and every adult has access to basic human needs like food, counseling, child care, and housing. We do this by listening, learning, and acting to help individuals and families navigate the barriers that prevent them from moving their life forward in a positive way.
The Health and Safety Coach works as part of the Child Care Resource and Referral team to increase practitioner quality of care through promoting best practice, sharing information and providing technical assistance on required training components, and environments in which Early Care and Education is provided by license exempt providers.
The Health & Safety Coach is considered field staff. Field staff refers to positions that require the main scope of their work to be conducted outside of the physical agency location. Field staff positions receive specific enhanced training on job related activities and should be in the field working with programs for the majority of their work time.

- Build relationships with license-exempt providers to improve quality and promote safe, developmentally appropriate care.
- Schedule and conduct on-site health and safety monitoring visits for license-exempt providers receiving Child Care Assistance Program payments across the service area.

- Manage the license-exempt grant process, including outreach, application intake, eligibility review, awards, and compliance tracking.
- Document visits, findings, corrective actions, and provider supports in agency and state systems; prepare and submit required reports on time.
- Facilitate Health, Safety, and Child Development trainings; verify completion of required health and safety trainings for Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) participation.
We are looking for team members who:
- Believe that early childhood education is the first step to a child's successful future;
- Have great attention to detail while working quickly and are great communicators;
