onsite Mossville, IL. Must be onsite day 1 (max 2 weeks from offer) and cover own relocation costs.
Type:
Contract. Length: 24 months with possibility to convert to full time. Optional benefits. Long‑term contract with ability to extend or convert.
Screenings: technology screening prior to submission; full panel drug and background checks once hired.
Interview process: 1 or 2 rounds.
Education & Experience- Years of experience: 5+ years required.
- Degree requirement: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.
- C++ demonstrated experience, automation, robotics.
- Unit testing, SIL testing, Canape or CAN analyzer (preferred).
- Ethernet tools (Wireshark).
- Familiar with construction equipment.
- Robotics or automation experience.
- Missing demonstrated C++ at a job is a disqualifier.
The main function of an embedded software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of embedded software and systems that make computers work. A typical embedded software engineer researches, designs, develops and tests operating systems‑level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications.
Responsibilities- Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions, and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
- Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources.
- Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish the project.
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.
- Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
- Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software. Solid programming experience in C++.
- Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to embedded systems, such as SQL, Visual Basic.
- Responsible for coding C++ at application level to get RC/Autonomy system to function as desired.
- Will be dedicated to SATS/CfD.
- Structure Domain Architect is lead software expert and directs work.
- Technology Project Manager (TPM) manages overall project and budget.
- Will work with other Software Developers and Systems Engineers to deliver release.
- Office with occasional needs to support at Provi.
