This driving position is employed by GTT, Inc., the dedicated transportation partner for O’Brien Steel, offering stable, long-term driving opportunities with consistent routes and the ability to be home every night.

We are hiring CDL Drivers to support material delivery operations across our customer network. This position is employed by GTT, Inc., the transportation partner for O’Brien Steel. This role is responsible for safely transporting steel products using flatbed trailers while ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations.

This position is based out of Madison, IL and operates primarily on routes in the Missouri and Southern Illinois region, allowing drivers to return home daily. Drivers will handle flatbed loads, which require proper securement using straps and tarps. A driver may also handle a van or Conestoga trailer depending on the route and equipment availability.

Experience with flatbed hauling is preferred but not required for qualified applicants. A valid CDL Class A license is required for this position.

• Safely transport steel products to customers using flatbed trailers
• Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely and accurate delivery of material
• Secure loads using chains, straps, and tarps to ensure safe transport
• Maintain electronic driver logs (E-logs) in compliance with DOT regulations
• Identify and report vehicle maintenance or safety issues as needed
• Ensure proper load weight distribution and securement prior to departure
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
• Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies

• Valid CDL-A license required
• Clean driving record required in accordance with company and DOT standards
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
• Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely in varying weather and road conditions
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules
• Previous commercial driving or flatbed experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Ability to work independently and manage long-distance routes

• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 80 pounds (tarps)
• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods
• Ability to climb and maneuver to secure loads
• Work performed both driving and outdoors with varying weather conditions

Local routes with guarantees to be home daily. Start times may vary based on delivery schedule.
