Job Summary
The Centralized Dispatch Team (CDP) Box Truck Driver works with the CDP Leads and the Transportation Logistic/Supply Chain Manager to plan and execute various pickups and deliveries throughout the organization and assist with the servicing of retail locations with truck deliveries. The Driver provides excellent customer service to internal and external people and may interact with customers at both residential and commercial pick‑up locations while demonstrating exceptional safety.
Responsibilities- Safely operate an automatic 26’ box truck following all rules of the road.
- Maintain a clean, nonsmoking van and perform light maintenance, fuel replacement, and safety inspections.
- Load and unload materials onto trailers using proper techniques and weight distribution.
- Plan, organize, and execute daily activities, monitoring pickup and drop‑off inventory.
- Ensure pickups are completed in a timely manner according to the daily schedule.
- Proactively address and follow up on all customer service issues, communicating concerns to CDP Leads or the Transportation Logistic/Supply Chain Manager.
- Maintain a positive, cohesive environment to achieve goals.
- Provide a clean, fun, and safe environment for customers and employees.
- Maintain performance consistent with corporate guidelines.
- Greet customers with a handshake, introduction, and thank you for donations.
- Build and develop relationships with customers to determine product needs.
- Maintain effective communication with retail leadership staff and support staff.
- Assist in any site operational functions when not driving, directed by CDP Leads or the Transportation Logistic/Supply Chain Manager.
- Driving Expertise – Strong sense of direction and experience driving a 26’ box truck in Indiana urban and rural areas.
- Customer Focus – Ability to deliver excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Communication Skills – Effectively articulate thoughts in oral, written, and digital contexts, and listen to understand customer needs.
- Mathematical Aptitude – Perform basic calculations and interpret data such as rates, ratios, percentages, and quantitative counts.

- Organizational Aptitude – Plan, attend to details, and manage deadlines with quality.
- Technical Knowledge – Proficient with MS Office and internet navigation; willing to learn logistics platforms.

- Safety Awareness – Recognize risks, implement controls, and follow all safety protocols.
- Current valid Chauffeur’s License or ability to obtain one.

- Must pass a pre‑employment background check, including a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and qualification under the district’s insurance carrier.
- Must pass a 10‑point drug screen at pre‑hire, during promotions, and if accidents occur.
- Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch for more than 8 hours.
- Use hands for handling and reach with arms; lift up to 50 pounds.
- Manage exposure to loud noises, weather conditions, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Risk of electrical shock and vibration.
Close, distance, peripheral, and color vision; ability to adjust focus.
Minimum AgeMinimum of 18 years of age. Illinois locations only: IL Class C license and IDOT physical are required.
