Operations Supervisor

Come join one of the largest transportation organizations in North America. First Student is currently hiring for an Operations Supervisor.

Salary:
Up to $65,000 per year depending on experience.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 5:00am to 3:00pm.

• Demonstrate and promote a safe work environment at all times.
• Ensure drivers have the daily paperwork necessary to complete their routes.
• Verify completed charter paperwork is received by the Location Manager for processing.
• Coordinate field trips by assigning personnel and vehicles.
• Assist drivers, under the location manager’s direction, with establishing route descriptions.
• Ensure drivers follow through with scheduled fueling and mechanical work.
• Observe safety practices of personnel and take corrective action when necessary.
• Assist in training sessions and kickoff meetings.
• Attend disciplinary meetings with the location manager.
• Interact with school officials on routine matters at smaller bus locations, as required.
• Drive bus on occasion if necessary.
• Assist dispatcher when necessary.
• Manage small locations under overall direction of the Location Manager.
• Ensure routes meet state, local, and vendor requirements.
• Review time sheets prior to submission to payroll.

• 3‑5 years of experience in the transportation industry.
• Good supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical.
