Warehouse Supervisor

Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily distribution center operations, ensuring the accurate, safe, and on-time movement of merchandise from receipt through shipment. This role leads frontline warehouse associates across receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping activities to meet order fulfillment, service-level, productivity, and inventory accuracy goals in a fast-paced distribution environment. This position reports to the Director, Supply Chain, Operations & Facilities in Bolingbrook.

• Supervise and coordinate daily distribution activities including receiving, replenishment, order picking, packing, staging, and outbound shipping.
• Ensure accurate, timely processing of customer orders to meet outbound delivery schedules and service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Monitor workload and labor allocation to maximize throughput and minimize delays during peak volumes.
• Troubleshoot fulfillment issues (shortages, mis-picks, carrier delays) and implement corrective actions.

• Maintain high inventory accuracy through cycle counting, root cause analysis, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Use WMS/ERP systems to track inventory movements, order status, and productivity metrics.
• Partner with inventory control and planning teams to resolve discrepancies and improve flow.

• Lead, train, coach, and develop warehouse associates across all distribution functions.
• Enforce performance standards related to safety, quality, accuracy, and productivity.
• Conduct performance feedback, attendance management, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Support onboarding and continuous training to ensure consistency with distribution processes.

• Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, including proper equipment operation and material handling practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment (5S-or similar standards).
• Lead incident investigations and corrective action plans to reduce safety and quality issues.

• Identify opportunities to improve picking accuracy, order cycle time, dock-to-stock time, and labor efficiency.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and support operational changes or system enhancements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with transportation, customer service, procurement, and operations leadership.

• Prepare and review operational reports related to productivity, labor utilization, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and safety performance.

• H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2-3 yrs warehouse operations experience
• 2
  -3 yrs experience in a supervisory role

• Basic computer skills and experience with ERP systems
• Good communication skills
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Certified forklift operator
