Job Summary

The CNC Machinist II - 2nd Shift operates under minimal supervision, operating CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts.

2:30pm - 1:00am - Mon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
  • Reads and interprets blueprints
  • Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials
  • Proficient in the use of measuring instruments
  • Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
  • Ability to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance. Must be self-sufficient
  • Must be familiar with MAZAK, HAAS, Fanuc, and Mori Controls
  • Understands and can function using M and G codes
  • Must demonstrate a basic understanding of cutting tools
  • Properly chooses/uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling
  • Understands and can perform basic tool wear offsets
  • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery
  • Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment
  • Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department
  • Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures
  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
  • Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management
  • Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input
  • Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant
  • Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills
  • In-depth knowledge of CNC milling machines and operations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments and tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining is preferred
  • 1 year of experience in CNC machining
  • Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach during the duration of shift, 8-10 hours
  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend
  • Frequently required to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated in the specific work area assigned
  • This position requires working night shifts
  • The work environment includes exposure to noise, dust, and machinery

Compensation:
Pay: $29 - 33 Hourly (final rate is determined based on experience).
