The Position

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is hiring Part‑Time Sales Associates – Intermittent Liquor Store Clerks (ILSC) to join our Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores. We seek friendly, motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering top‑notch customer service and creating a welcoming shopping experience.

Description of Work

As a Part‑Time Sales Associate, you will be the face of our store, engaging with customers, assisting with sales, and contributing to a positive shopping atmosphere. This fast‑paced retail role offers competitive pay, career advancement opportunities, and valuable experience. Positions are eligible for Affordable Care Act / Bronze Plan medical benefits from the first day of employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, helping shoppers find what they need.
  • Manage sales transactions with a computerized cash register.
  • Unload shipments, stock shelves, and set up product displays.
  • Receive, assemble, and pack wholesale customer orders, loading them into vehicles.
  • Safely lift products—occasionally overhead or from a squatting position—from 30 to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 60 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Keep the store clean and organized.
  • Utilize scanners, box cutters, dollies, carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
  • Follow all legal guidelines to ensure alcohol is sold only to customers who are legally permitted to buy it.
  • Work in a friendly, team‑oriented environment where every day brings new challenges and rewards.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • This store is accessible via public transportation, route 313.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • Permanent, part‑time employment.
  • Preferred availability: 13 to 32 hours per week.
  • Store work hours and days are:
    Monday 10:30 AM – 7:15 PM;
    Tuesday 10:00 AM – 7:15 PM;
    Wednesday to Saturday 8:30 AM – 9:15 PM;
    Sunday closed.
  • Flexible shifts, typically 4 to 6.5 hours per shift.
  • Availability may be scheduled on a rotating basis during weekdays and weekends with daytime and evening hours.
  • Schedule details may change due to operational needs; applicants may be required to work other schedules.
  • Minimum of 13 hours per week with the ability to work more up to 32 hours.
  • Telework is not an option for this position.
  • Primary location is the store listed above; assignment to other stores is possible based on operational needs.
  • Starting salary for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed and is not negotiable.
Required Experience, Training & Eligibility Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
Other Requirements
  • Background investigation required. A felony conviction within the last ten years prohibits employment; other convictions are reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis.
