A great client, an award-winning contractor is hiring an accounting manager. The position is open and actively interviewing candidates.
- Role Description The Accounting Manager – Construction Company (Inland Empire, CA- ON SITE) will oversee day-to-day accounting operations for construction clients, including managing general ledger activity, reviewing and preparing financial statements, and supervising month-end and year-end close processes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Irvine, CA, requiring regular collaboration with internal teams and client stakeholders. Responsibilities include reviewing and posting journal entries, maintaining and reconciling fixed asset schedules, and ensuring accurate job cost and project accounting in accordance with applicable standards.
The role will also involve monitoring financial performance, supporting budget and forecast activities, and preparing analyses and reports that help clients understand margins, cash flow, and risk. The Accounting Manager will contribute to process improvements, assist with audits, and provide guidance to junior team members to support high-quality service delivery.
- Ability to prepare, review, and analyze Financial Statements for construction-related entities.
- Strong Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, assess project performance, and support decision-making.
- Proficiency in Journal Entries (Accounting) and general ledger management, including reconciliations and adjustments.
- Solid understanding of Finance principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Experience managing Fixed Assets, including tracking, depreciation, and disposals.
- Experience in construction industry accounting (e.g., job costing, progress billing, WIP schedules) strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field;
- Competence with accounting software and Excel; familiarity with construction-focused systems is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site with diverse clients and team members.
