Overview
Komar Distribution Services (KDS), a leader in third-party logistics and fulfillment, is seeking a strategic hands-on Director of Finance focused on economic outcomes, financial rigor, and responsible scale of our transportation and distribution business. Candidates must have the ability to work in our Perris, CA location and have the ability to travel.
The purpose of the role is to ensure growth that is profitable, predictable, and transparent—by protecting margin, enforcing pricing discipline, eliminating manual financial work, and making performance visible and actionable at every level of the operation.
Core Responsibilities- Own finance organizational design, staffing, and productivity
- Own pricing, deal economics, and commercial finance
- Own billing, revenue assurance, and collections strategy
- Own FP&A, analytics, and operating financial insight
- Own logistics-specific procurement economics
- Own insurance cost allocation and claims economics
- Act as an independent, fact-based counterweight to Ops and Sales
- Partner with Corporate Finance on consolidation, risk, and capital planning
- Margin Discipline & Economic Transparency
- Scalable Finance Operation
- Risk & Cost Accountability Embedded in Operations
- Interface with Corporate Finance
- 10–15+ years in finance roles with increasing responsibility
- Direct experience in:
- 3PL, logistics, transportation, warehousing, or asset-heavy operations
- Experience in apparel and omni-channel fulfilment is ideal but not required
Proven ownership of:
- Pricing and deal economics
- Margin management
- FP&A tied to operations
- Billing and revenue assurance
- Experience scaling a business while reducing cost per unit of revenue
Preferred Experience
- Multi-site or network-based operations
- Transportation + warehousing experience
- Updating billing processes and manual finance workflows
- Improving system integrations
- Experience partnering with corporate CFO or controller
- Exposure to insurance, claims, and risk economics in logistics
