Role SummaryExol is seeking a Senior Director of Operations to lead and oversee the operational performance of a $200–300M revenue warehouse with potential future regional warehouses. This role involves strategic direction, P&L responsibility, and leadership of operations managers managing both conventional and automated warehouse facilities.
Responsibilities- National Operations Leadership: Provide strategic leadership for a key hub warehouse with potential additional regional warehouse sites, ensuring alignment with Exol’s goals and operational objectives. Oversee the performance of operations managers and their teams.
- P&L Responsibility: Assume full responsibility for the P&L of site and/or multiple sites within the region. Manage financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue growth.
- Operational Excellence: Drive execution of best practices in warehousing, logistics, and supply chain management. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and ensure both conventional and automated operations meet productivity, quality, and sustainability goals.
- Team Development & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations managers and their direct reports across multiple locations.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement long-term operational strategies to improve performance, optimize resource allocation, and drive growth in alignment with Exol's national goals.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and compliance standards across all sites.
- Vendor & Supplier Management: Oversee vendor relationships and manage procurement for all sites, negotiating contracts and SLAs.
- Technology Integration: Oversee the integration of automated systems and warehouse technologies to ensure operational efficiency.
- Customer & Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor and report on operational performance, financial results, and KPIs to the executive team.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Lead the company’s efforts in sustainable logistics practices across all sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in operations management within logistics, warehousing, or supply chain industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple sites or regions.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and full P&L responsibility.
- Strong strategic vision, decision-making, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Extensive experience in managing both conventional and automated warehouse operations and knowledge of WMS, material handling systems, supply chain logistics, and inventory management.
- PMP or similar certifications are a plus.
- Experience with warehouse automation technologies and integrating them into traditional operations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and warehouse management software.
- Passion for sustainability and environmentally conscious practices in logistics.
- Up to 25% travel may be required. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive and/or fly to client locations.
- Employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
- Frequent on-site presence; may require walking, bending, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Work may occur on construction sites with required PPE: hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eye protection, ear protection, fall protection.
- Work temperatures may range from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
The base range for this position is $ - $, inclusive of medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO, and other benefits. Compensation may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
