Job Description

Schedule: 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Industry: Food Manufacturing
Experience: Minimum 2 years in the food industry required
Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role requires mechanical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.

  • Install, adjust, and replace parts to restore equipment functionality.

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Assist in equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations.

  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

  • Maintain tools, manage parts inventory, and keep work areas clean and safe.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role (2+ years in the food industry required).

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical work.

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Ability to lift [X lbs.] and work in physically demanding environments.

Preferred Skills
  • Welding and fabrication experience.

  • PLC troubleshooting knowledge.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
