Job Description
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role requires mechanical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Schedule:
5:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Industry: Food Manufacturing.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in the food industry required. Language:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
- troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- install, adjust, and replace parts to restore equipment functionality.
- maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
- ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and environmental standards.
- assist in equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations.
- collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- maintain tools, manage parts inventory, and keep work areas clean and safe.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role (2+ years in the food industry required).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical work.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to lift [X lbs.] and work in physically demanding environments.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- PLC troubleshooting knowledge.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
