Nammo Perry, Inc. is a U.S. defense contractor and a member of the Nammo Group (Nammo AS). Nammo Perry develops, manufactures and specializes in propulsion and energetic material products for tactical missiles, rocket motors, and warheads. Nammo Perry is presently expanding operations and is looking for dedicated team members to assist with new start-up operations and program execution.
Essential Job FunctionsWe are seeking a motivated CAD Technician with 0 to 5 years of experience to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals passionate about mechanical design, 3D modeling, and technical drawing. You will work closely with engineers and project teams to create accurate, production-ready CAD models and drawings used in the design and manufacturing of mechanical components and rocket motor systems.
The successful candidate will perform a variety of highly skilled and specialized duties that will include, but is not limited to:
- Create 2D and 3D CAD models of mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using Siemens NX
- Maintain/Operate Windchill PLM software
- Revise and update drawings and models based on engineering feedback or redlines
- Generate detailed fabrication and assembly drawings with appropriate tolerancing and materials
- Work with engineering to create time-saving computer codes
- Generate mass property reports for CAD models and assemblies
- Assist engineers in developing product concepts and prototypes
- Maintain organized and accurate CAD file structures and drawing libraries
- Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and document control processes
- Perform basic design calculations and ensure compliance with applicable standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and quality - Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Works with tooling engineer to implement assembly fixtures, tooling and equipment
Coordinates technical matters relating to assembly drawing interpretation, Engineering Change Notices, rework and manufacturing specifications
Support Design for Manufacture/Design for Assembly studies in coordination with Engineering
Participate in design reviews to ensure accurate CAD models and drawings are in place
Supports production activities as needed
Knowledge and SkillsMust be US Citizen without dual citizenship
Associate degree in Drafting and Design Technology (or equivalent) with 0-5 years of relevant experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizen)
Excellent communications skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain attention to detail under stress, and the ability to understand and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Ability to obtain BATF approval to work with our products.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Vizio, One Note, etc)
Physical Requirements and Work Environment- Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing
