Nammo Perry is a center of excellence for the design, development and production of munitions and pyrotechnic products for the U.S. Department of Defense. Nammo employees working at the Florida site manufacture all types of 40mm low and high velocity ammunition; pyrotechnic marking; signaling and tactical illumination devices; battlefield effects training simulators; demolition charges; hand grenade fuzes; and other ammunition components.
Additionally, they provide load, assemble, and pack (LAP) services for large caliber direct-fire ammunition.
The Environmental Engineer will identify, assess and resolve problems concerning NPI’s environment and manage the environmental team.

Precision in Action
- Perform routine walk-through of operating lines to assist in environmental concerns
- Ensure proper management of non-reactive waste containers, including packaging, labeling, segregation and accumulation.
- Administer the manifesting and transporting hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste, and coordinate empty drum pickup including loading/unloading empty drums
- Perform waste determinations and profiling as required under RCRA standards
- Assist in contract-related program waste planning
- Coordinate preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly environmental reports and forms and maintain all records in compliance with appropriate regulations.
- Schedule pickups as needed for wastewater, facility waste streams and recyclable materials
- Conduct OB/ODU and IWTP ground water monitoring and OB/ODU soil monitoring
- Maintain and improve ISO 14001 program, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Waste Minimization and Pollution Prevention Plan, RCRA Contingency Plan, and Used Oil Management program
- Prepare state and federal reports such as but not limited to RCRA, Potable Water Supply, Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant, Non-Title V (FESOP) Emissions, and TIER II/Toxic Release Inventory
- Assist with Safety Data Sheet preparations
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local regulations pertaining to Environmental; representing the company in all contact with regulatory agencies
- Stay current with changes with environmental laws and keep the company in compliance with all city and state and federal regulations
- Manage environmental permit renewals and modifications as necessary to keep the facility in compliance
- Keep supervisors and managers current as all changes in permit and regulatory status relate to them

- Identify, create, and improve training needs (in accordance with company training policy and procedures) as it relates to Environmental
- Update RCRA staging area inventory weekly.
- Represent the Health, Safety, and Environmental Department in all meetings
- Interface with Federal, State and local government/regulatory inspectors and insurance inspectors during inspections or audits of plant on Environmental issues
- Perform regular inspections, determine corrective action or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure implementation
- Be involved with chemical handling, hazardous waste disposal and other programs
- Manage and assist Environmental Technical Staff to ensure compliance with Potable Water System Plant and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant requirements including sampling and maintenance.
- Train Blending and Environmental staff on annual 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher and/or Annual RCRA refresher as needed.

- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences, Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or Chemistry
- Minimum 3 years of experience in collecting environmental field data, writing technical reports, and implementing environmental compliance programs
