Senior Forest Ranger
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking a Senior Forest Ranger. This position is for internal agency employees only. The salary range is $45,990.62 - $67,255.50.
Minimum requirements include three years of experience as a Forest Ranger with the Florida Forest Service, or three years of similar work experience with another public wildland firefighting forestry organization, or an associate's degree in Forest Technology or Fire Science from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as referenced above. Additional requirements include obtaining a firefighter certificate of compliance, a valid driver license, and a Class A Commercial Driver License with tanker endorsement within six months of appointment.
Job duties include forest fire prevention, detection, suppression and presuppression, providing technical forestry services and information to landowners and wood-using industry representatives, assisting with state lands management, and presenting forestry educational programs. The position requires occasional to moderate travel and responding to emergencies as needed.
