Welder

Job Summary

The Welder is responsible for adding value in the process flow by accurately assembling various components and/or sub‑assemblies into specified fixturing and joining by welding or repairing defective welds.

• Observance of all safety rules and policies maintained by the company.
• Maintenance of a clean and organized workspace and plant proper.
• Picking and placing components or sub‑assemblies into proper fixturing and joining by the application of GMAW (Gas‑Metal‑Arc Welding).
• Exercising product and process knowledge to identify out‑of‑conformance situations and alert supervisor or Quality Auditor of these situations in a timely manner.
• Rotation of position into different production teams as is necessary to meet production schedules and company goals.
• Maintenance of good housekeeping practices always.
• Ability to set up welding equipment including changing gas.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Understanding of welding processes and ability to operate GMAW equipment.

The role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, climbing. May have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. May work around moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, conveyor rollers. May work in outdoor weather conditions all seasons. Noise level moderate to loud.

Exposure to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, wet work. PPE required: work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut‑resistant sleeves, seasonal gear. Steel‑toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards may be required though not included.

Full‑time hourly position. Hours of work and days are decided by production or General Manager.
