Picture this: your mechanical and mechatronic designs become the backbone of a cutting‑edge production line. At Nammo Energetics (NEI), the Nammo Group division establishing a solid rocket motor manufacturing facility next to Nammo Perry Inc in Perry, Florida, you’ll help bring a greenfield operation to life—overseeing equipment that supports safe, high‑quality throughput as we target initial production in 2027.Your mission
Lead special projects to design and build automated and semi‑automated assembly and secondary machines—selecting materials, defining tooling, and validating performance. Elevate productivity by analyzing and optimizing mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Develop fixtures and bespoke machines that meet stringent customer and internal requirements. Translate cross‑functional inputs (Quality, Process Engineering, and more) into clear, detailed procurement scopes for new equipment. Verify quality through hands‑on oversight of fabrication, assembly, and installation.
Coordinate maintenance and repairs; apply OEM instructions and internal procedures; request special services when warranted. Estimate tooling costs end‑to‑end and steer vendors from concept to runoff to on‑site setup. Assist maintenance teams with troubleshooting and repairing production assets. Champion safety, environmental compliance, and impeccable housekeeping.
Where and how you’ll work
On‑site at our downtown Perry, FL office with travel as required, including an alignment trip to Raufoss, Norway within your first 12–18 months.
What sets you apartBS in Engineering and 5+ years related experience, or 15+ years in a comparable role.
Advanced 3D design skills.
Proven background designing and maintaining automated assembly equipment.
Expertise with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including drawings and schematics.
Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic documentation.
Project finisher: you take concepts through to completion.
Working knowledge of basic PLC code.
Clear communication—written and verbal—with excellent organization and computer skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
Self‑directed, collaborative, and deadline‑driven.
