Job DescriptionAll classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the District’s mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conducts whole group, small group or individual classroom activities in accordance with specific program requirements.
- Helps with all aspects of the daily routine.
- Assists with supervision of students.
- Follows direction of the supervising teacher.
- Assists with student assessment, grading work and tests, and collecting data on student progress.
- Assists with routine record keeping.
- Assists with the preparation of materials for instruction.
- Assists with classroom housekeeping.
- Assists students with daily activities and school functions.
- Assists in ordering and inventorying classroom equipment and materials.
- Assists with school-wide supervision.
- Participates in Professional Learning.
- Performs other duties as requested.
- Education level must be within accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Certification as required by the Professional Standards Commission.
- Must have ability to read and comprehend job specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and position specific manuals.
- Must have ability to write correspondence and reports.
- Must have ability to effectively articulate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must have ability to conduct position related data analysis, compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Must be able to facilitate the problem solving processes and synthesize workable options from given facts.
- Must have considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job specified technologies.
- Must be able to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, teachers, staff members, students using tactful yet effective skills, collaborate well with others, display a cooperative attitude, be service oriented and actively seek ways to assist others.
- Must serve as a role model to students and maintain appropriate dress and grooming consistent with established standards.
The duties of this job require walking, standing, and lifting up to 50‑75 pounds. Employees may also crouch or kneel as needed.
Work EnvironmentFrequent travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations is required. Work may involve exposure to traffic and outdoor elements. Noise level is usually moderate. Employees may work outdoors in various weather conditions.
