The GTC Manager (Graphic Technical Center Manager) is responsible for managing the Flint Group Customer Graphic Technical Center operations, ensuring efficient technical support, ink management, and production support for customer printing operations. This role focuses on color matching, ink formulation, press troubleshooting, inventory management, and team coordination while ensuring compliance with safety standards, lean manufacturing practices, and quality control procedures. The GTC Manager works closely with customer press teams, Flint Group technical service representatives, and internal production teams to ensure smooth operations and optimal product performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management
    • Manage the Graphic Technical Center (GTC) operations supporting customer press schedules.
    • Ensure Ink-to-Press operations are maintained efficiently and meet production demands.
    • Coordinate work assignments and schedules for GTC personnel.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Provide technical support for customer press and ink-related issues.
    • Troubleshoot ink performance issues, color inconsistencies, and printing defects.
    • Document and communicate technical problems to Flint Group Technical Service Representatives.
  • Color Matching & Ink Formulation
    • Perform color matching and formulation management to meet customer color standards.
    • Maintain and update customer formulation files and color databases.
    • Ensure compliance with customer quality control specifications.
  • Inventory & Materials Management
    • Maintain proper ink and raw material inventory levels aligned with customer press schedules.
    • Support Flint Group Days on Hand (DOH) inventory targets.
    • Develop plans to manage press returns and obsolete materials.
  • Process Improvement & Documentation
    • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for:
      • Ink weighing
      • Dispensing
      • Blending processes
    • Track and maintain process improvement initiatives through action registers.
    • Document:
      • Ink adjustments at press
      • Press downtime
      • Root cause analysis
      • Corrective actions
  • Team Leadership
    • Coordinate schedules and assignments for Graphic Technicians and GTC personnel.
    • Train, mentor, and develop Ink Technicians and technical staff.
    • Maintain performance records for technicians.
    • Approve ADP timecards and provide input for promotions and compensation adjustments.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Maintain a zero-workplace injury environment.
    • Implement Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices.
    • Ensure compliance with Flint Group safety standards and PPE requirements.
    • Participate in monthly safety training programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Education
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Minimum Requirement)
  • Experience
    • 2–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, printing, or technical production environments
    • Experience managing ink rooms, printing operations, or technical production teams
    • Experience with flexographic or packaging printing environments preferred
  • Technical Skills
    • Experience with:
      • Color matching and ink formulation
      • Ink blending, weighing, and dispensing processes
      • Press troubleshooting and technical support
      • Quality control and process documentation
  • Professional Skills
    • Strong team coordination and scheduling abilities
    • Excellent technical communication and problem-solving skills
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams and technical service representatives
    • Ability to maintain accurate production and QC records
  • Preferred Skills
    • Experience in flexographic printing or packaging manufacturing
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices
    • Experience with ink room management systems
    • Experience supporting customer press operations
