Position Overview:
Strengthen delivery of instruction in support of the system’s mission. Family Engagement Liaisons serve as liaisons between schools, parents, and community organizations and endeavor to increase parental involvement in schools.
- Facilitates workshops, classes, and activities for parents and provides materials and educational resources to families related to parental participation.
- Develops, analyzes, and distributes the results of parent surveys to parents, school staff, and district.
- Promotes shared decision‑making opportunities by involving parents in the planning and budgeting of parent engagement.
- Maintains ongoing relationships with community organizations that provide services and resources in support of our schools’ educational needs.
- Maintains records of all parent involvement activities, reports, surveys, program evaluations, and parent data.
- Promotes a family‑friendly school climate and maintains an inviting and welcoming Parent Resource Center for visiting families.
- Communicates with faculty, staff, and administrators to determine school needs in the area of parent engagement and to share updates on parent‑involvement best practices.
- Participates in professional development at the local, regional, and/or state level and redeploys ideas and experiences with school staff.

- Education and/or
Experience:
Associate’s degree or two years’ education is preferred; experience working jointly with families and schools and/or experience working in a Title I school. - Certificate or License: None.

Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend job‑specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and position‑specific manuals; write correspondence and reports; articulate and present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; conduct position‑related data analysis; compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs. - Reasoning Ability: Ability to facilitate problem‑solving processes; synthesize workable options from given facts and develop solutions.
- Technical Ability: Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job‑specified technologies.

Work EnvironmentFrequent travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations is required. Work may involve outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is usually moderate.
