Certified Nursing Aide - FT 40 hrs per wk (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri; 12p-10p)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Assisting patients with ADL’s, and performance of specific skills such as vital signs, enemas and weights
- Completion of documentation as directed, according to hospital policy
- Functions with an awareness and application of safety issues as identified within the facility. Provide safe environment for the patient and is aware of safety issues for self, co-workers, patients and visitors
- Notifies nurse regarding changes in patient’s condition and other needs of the patient
- Participates in quality improvement activities as assigned to improve patient outcomes
- Participates in scheduled staff meetings for the purpose of communicating hospital wide and departmental policies/procedures and concerns
- Assumes self-responsibility for obtaining training as necessary, assuring that skill level meets the demand for areas of responsibility
- Functions with an awareness of and application of safety issues as identified within the facility. Provides safe environment for the patient and is aware of safety issues for self, co-workers, patients and visitors
In addition to the functions described above, this role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Dallas County Hospital needs or requirements.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education/
Experience:
Completion of CNA certification exam. 75 hour certified nurse class, required.
Technical
Skills:
- Must be able to perform skills required in CNA certification exam.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills in order to complete documentation.
Other qualifications/certificate/license:
- Must complete BCLS and renew annually and dependent adult/child abuse course.
