REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education/Experience
Current RN license in the State of Iowa. Minimum of three years hospital experience required. BSN or Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. Surgery experience preferred.
Certifications and LicensesMust be certified in BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and complete dependent adult/child abuse training.
Technical SkillsAbility to operate all equipment and perform all procedures in the nursing department. Demonstrates knowledge, abilities, and skills required to perform a wide variety of nursing functions. Mathematical ability necessary to compute drug dosages accurately. Completion of unit-specific competencies as scheduled, with competencies performed at least bi-annually. Knowledge of perioperative nursing practice, surgical services operations, sterile processing principles, and AORN standards.
PCCompetencies
The incumbent must demonstrate an understanding and working knowledge of the Windows environment and the ability to access and use information in meaningful ways. Must access, manipulate, organize, and relay information using email, word processing, and spreadsheets. Working knowledge of the Internet is preferred.
