As a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager at Amazon, you will serve as the site’s safety facilitator, orchestrating the Global WHS Program, partnering with Operations leadership, and building a high‑performing WHS team to drive safety culture and operational excellence.
Core Impact Areas- Safety Leadership & Innovation
- Transform safety culture through leadership and innovative solutions, drive continuous improvement, leverage technology and data analytics to implement preventive measures, develop leadership plans, and conduct site audits. - Strategic Partnership & Influence
- Build partnerships with Operations leadership, use data analysis and risk insights to influence positive change, serve as trusted advisor balancing safety excellence with operational demands, and oversee recordkeeping, workplace organization, and WHS training programs.
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
- Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
- Work in an environment where the noise level varies.
- Work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments).
- Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
- Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.
Those that do not have an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must obtain it within 3 weeks of start date.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management.
- Experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
- Master's degree.
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic organization.
- Certified Safety Professional.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
- Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem‑solving ability.
