Position Title:

Applicant Pool for Adjunct Faculty, Technical Theater Support

Job Description:

Assists the Technical Director with larger tasks that require more than one person and acts as a backup for the Technical Director during vacation or sick days.

Tasks that Need Assistance:

Installing/Uninstalling Marely Dance Floor
- Running light board, sound board, or live stream equipment for larger productions
- Moving heavy equipment i.e. musical instruments.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Knowledge of current practices in theatrical staging, design, and execution. Knowledge of lighting and sound design. Knowledge of applicable safety regulations.

* Written/verbal communication, customer service skill, use of power tools i.e. drills/saws. Technical/Professional proficiency in lighting and sound equipment.

* Capability to make quick decisions under pressure. Ability to manage several projects at once.

Essential Functions:

* Coordinate events and facility use with the Fine and Performing Arts Chair and CFPA Coordinator.

* Serve as a back-up technical liaison for all groups using the facility.

* Coordinate scenic and prop build schedules with staff and guest artists.

* Serve as a back-up head technician for all productions.

* Design lighting and sound for Owens productions and for outside productions where needed.

* Monitor use and maintain technical equipment in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, including lighting, sound, rigging, and shop equipment.

* Supervise, train and monitor students in shop activities, including scenic and prop construction.

* Supervise, train and monitor student and community members in running shows for Owens productions and outside events.

* Act as a back-up supervisor for all technical rehearsals.

Minimum Education /

Experience:

* Associate degree or two-year technical certificate

* Technical operations of Theatre lighting, sound supervision, and scenic construction
